One of the most relaxing places to visit in West Java is Puncak in Bogor. Weekend getaways are popular among residents of Jakarta and Bandung. It will take around one hour and 15 minutes to get there by public transportation from Jakarta. We can go there using public transit, such as bus or taxi, if we don’t want to worry about traffic.
Puncak is famous for its fresh air, many trees and of course the view. We can see Mount Salak and also Mount Gede from Puncak. There are so many places to visit in Puncak. Some of them are Taman Bunga Nusantara, Taman Safari Indonesia, Curug (waterfall) Cimanggu, Curug (waterfall) Ciismun and etc.
If we want to spend our weekend in Puncak, we should go there early in the morning because it will be very crowded on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. And if we want to stay overnight, we can book a room in one of many hotels or villas in Puncak.
My classmates and I went to Puncak for the weekend before our mid-term exams. My buddy who was in charge, his name was Dito, created a committee to plan our vacation schedules for this holiday. One of my pals on the committee informed me additional information, including “ranking 1” quizzes, a photo booth game, billiards game, and also that we would have a climb activity inside there.
The first day we arrived in Puncak, we went to Taman Bunga Nusantara and saw so many flowers there, it was so beautiful. After that we went to Cisarua Pig Farm and saw how the farmer took care of his pigs. The next day, we woke up early in the morning because we wanted to see sunrise at Kawah Putih. It was really cold but the view was worth it. We also went to Curug Cilember and it was such a fun experience.
I really enjoyed my weekend and I’m already looking forward to our next vacation. Thanks to Dito and the committee for making it happen.
On January 23th 2013, my classmates and I rented four private cars to go there. We stayed in a cottage near the top of Talita Hill in Puncak. When we reached the peak of the hill, it was a little foggy. On the first day my companions and I were there, we did a variety of activities such as praying, eating, billiards playing, cooking, and so on.
Then in the night we played a game “mafia”. That game was so funny because some of my friends acted like they are not a good person, but actually they were a good person. I ever won that game, it made me so happy even though the prize just a small chocolate.
The next day, we went to villa isola by foot. That place was so natural and fresh because there have many trees and also the cold water from the swimming pool. Then we did barbeque party in the night, we enjoyed it so much while listening to music together and telling stories each other. We were planning to go back to Jakarta at 8 o’clock in the morning, but finally we just left that villa at 10 because we were so happy and didn’t want to go home yet.
Jakarta is the capital of Indonesia and West Java is one of the provinces in Indonesia. Last weekend, I and my friends went to Puncak, which is located in West Java, for a trip. It was a great experience as we got to enjoy the natural scenery and spend time together.
Because the water was so chilly, most of my classmates had never bathed after that. Because we couldn’t do too much at night as a result of our energy levels, we decided to sleep rather than recharge ourselves for the following day’s activities. The boys were housed on the second floor while the girls inhabited the first.
The next day, we woke up early and had our breakfast at the school cafeteria. After that, we went to the nearby waterfalls.
At first, we were a bit hesitant to go in because the water was so cold. But after a few minutes of acclimatizing ourselves, we started to enjoy the experience. The waterfall was not very high, but it was still beautiful. After playing around for a while, we decided to head back to the school. On the way back, we stopped by a convenience store to buy some snacks and drinks.
We walked along the path to Curug Cimara first, it was around 2 kilometers from the entrance gate. It was tiring a little bit, but the scenery was very beautiful. There were many kinds of flowers and trees that can only be found in Indonesia. The air was fresh and cool because we were walking in the forest.
Finally we reached Curug Cimara. It’s a small waterfall, but the water was very clear. We played there for a while, took some pictures and videos then we walked back to the entrance gate. From there we went to Kebun Raya Cibodas.
Kebun Raya Cibodas is a botanical garden which was established in 1852 by the Dutch colonial government. It covers an area of about 200 hectares. There are more than 3,000 species of plants from all over the world, including cactus, orchid, rose, ferns and bamboo.
We walked around the garden and saw many beautiful flowers. Then we went to the Orchid Garden. There were so many kinds of orchids with different colors. We took some pictures there, then we went back to the villa.
On Sunday morning we woke up early because we wanted to go to Taman Sari Water Castle. It was about 1,5 kilometers from our villa. We walked there and arrived at 08.30 a.m. The ticket was 7.000IDR for local tourist and 9.000IDR for foreign tourist.
Taman Sari Water Castle is a complex of swimming pools and buildings built in the 18th century by the Sultan of Bandung as a resting place and a place to play for his harem.
The first pool is called Indah Manis Pool, it’s a square pool with 4 statues of elephants on each corner. Then we saw Menara Kudus, it’s a tall tower that was used as a watchtower to see enemies coming from afar.
After that we walked to the next pool called Tirta Manggala. This pool is octagonal and has a statue of a turtle in the middle. Then we saw Kursi Kanjeng Ratu Kidul, it’s a throne made of coral for the Queen of the South Seas.
The last pool is called Pasanggrahan Cipanas, it was used as a relaxation place for the Sultan and his family. There are 4 statues of animals on each corner of this pool, they are elephants, tigers, horses and monkeys.
