Surgical Tech Admission Essay

I’ve always been interested in the medical field and helping others, so when it came time to choose a college major, surgical technology was a natural fit. I knew that by becoming a surgical technologist, I could help make a difference in people’s lives every day.

Surgical technology is an essential part of modern medicine, and I’m proud to be part of such an important field. Every day, I get to work with surgeons and other medical professionals to help make sure that surgeries are performed safely and effectively. It’s a challenging and rewarding job, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives.

I chose the career of Surgical Tech for a variety of reasons. I’ve wanted to work in medicine for as long as I can remember. As a youngster, I said that I wanted to be a brain surgeon. At the age of seven, I was in a vehicle accident where my forehead was cut open and glass was imbedded in it after going through the windshield.

I was taken by ambulance to the trauma center at a local hospital. The surgeons and nurses saved my life and did an amazing job repairing the damage done to my forehead. From that experience, I knew that I wanted to help people in some capacity in the medical field.

I also have a strong interest in science and how the human body works. When I was researching various medical careers, surgical technology really piqued my interest. I like that surgical techs are able to see the surgery up close and be a part of the team helping save lives.

The job outlook for surgical techs is also very good. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of surgical technologists is expected to grow 12 percent from 2018 to 2028, much faster than the average for all occupations. With an aging population and advances in medical technology, there will be an increasing demand for surgical procedures.

I’m currently attending college to earn my degree in surgical technology and I’m really enjoying it. I’m learning a lot and am looking forward to starting my career in the operating room.

I’d seen pictures of both during and after where they had to peel back the skin and remove glass, which was disgusting. Instead of thinking “ewe, gross,” like most seven-year-olds, I thought it was fascinating.

I wanted to be the one doing that. When it came time to choose my career path, I knew that I wanted to work in the medical field. I considered becoming a doctor, but quickly realized that wasn’t the right fit for me. That’s when I learned about surgical technology.

Surgical technologists are an important part of the surgical team. They work alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to ensure that surgeries are performed safely and efficiently.

I knew that this was the perfect career for me. I love being able to help people and make a difference in their lives. Every day is different, and I never get bored. If you’re thinking about a career in medicine, I urge you to consider surgical technology. It’s an amazing field with a lot of opportunity for growth.

There are a number of organizations and designations in the surgical technology field. This implies that those who work in the field are committed to ensuring that surgical technology is a viable job option. As a result, it’s crucial to understand the following aspects of surgical tech certification requirements while deciding if you want to be a surgical technician.

The surgical technologist is an allied health professional who works under the supervision of a licensed surgeon. Surgical technologists are responsible for the preparation of the operating room and patient, as well as the sterile instruments used during surgery.

While in college, I learned about various medical fields and became interested in surgical technology. After completing my degree, I took a certification exam and became certified by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). To maintain my certification, I am required to complete continuing education credits every year.

I chose surgical technology because it allows me to work closely with surgeons and other medical professionals. I enjoy being able to help patients through their surgical procedures, and I take pride in my work. I would recommend surgical technology to anyone who is interested in a career in medicine.

In order to be called a Certified Surgical Technologist or CST, you must pass the NBSTSA exam and maintain your certification status. The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential (granted by the NBTSA) must be renewed every four years. You will be expected to complete 60 hours of approved continuing education each four-year period and retake and pass the NBSTSA test at the conclusion of each period to keep this certificate.

Why I Chose Surgical Technology at College?

I have always been interested in the medical field and helping others. When I was looking at colleges, I knew that I wanted to find a program that would allow me to work in the medical field. I was drawn to the surgical technology program because it seemed like a perfect fit for me. I liked the idea of being able to work closely with surgeons and other medical professionals in the operating room.

The surgical technology program at my college was very competitive, and I had to put in a lot of hard work to get accepted into the program. Once I was accepted, I knew that I had made the right choice. The program was demanding, but it was also very rewarding. I learned a lot about surgical procedures and how to assist surgeons in the operating room. I am now a certified surgical technologist, and I love my job. I am grateful that I chose to pursue this career path.

The optimal solution for most individuals who want to learn how to be a surgical technician is to get an education from a school with a surgical tech program. Also, think about the following factors while selecting a school. Consider your future goals. If you believe you may wish to continue your education later on, check whether the credits you earn as part of your surgical technology program can be used toward a higher degree.

Additionally, think about the program’s schedule and whether it will fit into your current lifestyle. If you’re working or have other commitments, then you’ll need to make sure that the school you choose has a surgical tech program with a schedule that can accommodate your needs.

Finally, consider the cost of the program. While most surgical technologist programs are fairly affordable, there are some that can be quite costly. Make sure to research the various options and choose the one that is best for you both financially and academically.

The bottom line is that if you want to become a surgical technologist, then getting a formal education from an accredited school is the best way to do it. With so many great programs out there, there’s no reason not to get started on your new career today.

I decided to become a surgical technologist for a few reasons. First, I have always been interested in medicine and helping people. Second, I wanted to have a career that was both challenging and rewarding. And finally, I knew that by becoming a surgical technologist, I would be able to make a difference in the lives of others.
