The gang known as the Gangster Disciples has its roots in the Chicago gang scene. The gang was founded in the 1960s by Larry Hoover and David Barksdale. The gang has been involved in many criminal activities, including drug dealing, robbery, and murder. In recent years, the gang has been linked to several high-profile crimes, including the shooting of rapper Lil Wayne.
The gang has since spread to other parts of the United States, and is considered one of the most powerful and organized gangs in the country.
The gang is involved in a variety of criminal activities, including drug trafficking, extortion, money laundering, and murder. They are also known for their involvement in the production and distribution of methamphetamine.
The Gangster Disciple follows a strict code of conduct which includes loyalty to the gang, obedience to the leader, and respect for fellow gang members. Violation of these rules can result in punishment, up to and including death.
The gang is believed to have a membership of over 30,000 people, making it one of the largest gangs in the country. The gang has a significant presence on the internet, with a number of websites and social media accounts dedicated to their activities.
The Gangster Disciple has been involved in a number of high-profile crimes, including the murder of a rival gang leader, the attempted assassination of a police officer, and the kidnapping and murder of a nine-year-old boy.
Despite their criminal activities, the gang has also been known to engage in community outreach efforts, such as providing food and clothing to those in need. However, these efforts are often overshadowed by their involvement in violence and crime.
The gang has attempted to polish their image numerous times. Some members dropped the “B” and started calling themselves GDs or Gangster Disciples. The Gangster Disciples entered politics in Chicago, following the footsteps of the Black Panthers, Black Stone Rangers, Latin Kings, Vice Lords, Black Disciples and Young Lords with the establishment of the “Growth and Development” movement in the 1990s. Some gangs that are based outside of Chicago continue to use the old name BGD.
The gang is also involved in drug trafficking, weapons trafficking, and extortion. The gang has been substantially weakened by law enforcement pressure and internal violence in the last decade.
The gang was founded on the South Side of Chicago in the early 1970s, by David Barksdale, leader of the Black Disciples, and Larry Hoover, leader of the Supreme Gangsters. The two groups combined to form a new gang called the Black Gangster Disciple Nation. Hoover became the gang’s overall leader, while Barksdale remained the leader of his own faction.
During the 1980s and early 1990s, gang activity in Chicago was dominated by two rival supergangs: the Folk Nation (an alliance of smaller gangs including the BGDs) and the People Nation (an alliance of smaller gangs including the Vice Lords and Latin Kings). The Folk and People Nations had a long-standing rivalry dating back to the 1960s, when the Blackstone Rangers (later the Vice Lords) and the Almighty Ambrose (later the Latin Kings) first began fighting.
The gang is currently active in many parts of the United States, but most notably on the South Side of Chicago. They are also active in Atlanta, Detroit, Memphis, Milwaukee, New Orleans, and St. Louis. In recent years, gang members have been migrating to the suburbs of Chicago as well.
The gang is structured like a pyramid. At the top is the gang’s leader, followed by his top lieutenants. Below them are the gang’s foot soldiers, who carry out the gang’s orders.
The gang has a strict code of conduct that members are expected to follow. breaking the code can result in punishment, up to and including death. Some of the rules include:
– No using or selling drugs
– No stealing from fellow gang members
– No cooperating with law enforcement
– No disrespecting gang leaders or fellow gang members
The gang is divided into two main factions: the Folks and the People. The Folks are further divided into smaller gangs, including the Black Gangster Disciples. The People are also divided into smaller gangs, including the Latin Kings and Vice Lords.
The Folk and People Nations have a long-standing rivalry dating back to the 1960s, when the Blackstone Rangers (later the Vice Lords) and the Almighty Ambrose (later the Latin Kings) first began fighting. The Folk Nation is allied with the Black Gangster Disciples, while the People Nation is allied with the Latin Kings.
The Gangster Disciples have been found in the United States military, both onshore and offshore. According to reports, the Gangster Disciples’ distinctive graffiti has been seen at US military bases in Iraq and Afghanistan. They’ve expanded beyond North Carolina and Texas by establishing chapters in other states and cities including NC, TX, Florida, and New York.
Gangster Disciples, like most major organizations, employ a well-defined system of emblems to communicate mutual support and rivalry. This system includes logos that represent the Gangster Disciple Nation or the Folk Nation as a whole, as well as logos that rivals use to convey their organization, typically inverted to demonstrate contempt.
The gang is involved in many criminal activities such as drug trafficking, robbery, murder, and extortion. They are also known to be involved in gang wars with other Chicago-based gangs. Some notable members of the gang include Larry Hoover, David Barksdale, and Jeff Fort.
The colors black and royal blue are associated with the “Gangster Disciples.” Gang members are known to wear Georgetown Hoyas or Duke Blue Devils clothing.
Gang graffiti might include the gang’s name, gang signs, or claim territory. The gang is considered a “people” gang rather than a drug gang.
The Gangster Disciples have been involved in various illegal activities such as drug dealing, robbery, and murder. In the past, the gang has been linked to the Chicago Outfit (a crime syndicate in Chicago). However, there is no evidence to suggest that the gang is currently associated with any organized crime groups.
The Gangster Disciples are one of the largest and most well-known gangs in Chicago. The gang is believed to have several thousand members in the city. The gang is active in many parts of Chicago, but its turf is primarily on the South and West sides of the city.
